이오아니디스(John P.A.
□ Hanbat National University (President Oh Yong-jun) announced on the 13th that a total of 11 researchers have been selected on the list of the 'Top 2% Scientists in the World for 2026,' recently published by the global publishing company Elsevier and the research team of Professor John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University in the fields of science, medicine, and technology.
○ This year's list of the 'Top 2% Scientists in the World' is based on data up to 2025, selecting researchers worldwide who published at least five papers in 20 scientific fields and 174 subfields by analyzing their impact according to citation counts calculated from the SCOPUS database.
□ The list of the 'Top 2% of the World's Scientists' is announced in two categories: 'Career-long' and 'Single year.' At Hanbat National University, 9 are in the career-long category, 7 in the single-year category, and 5 are in both.
○ In the 'Lifetime Achievement' category, a total of nine individuals were selected: △ Jin-Gyun Cho, Department of Building Equipment Systems Engineering △ Kyung-Tae Park (Professor Emeritus), Department of New Materials Engineering △ Kwang-Joo Kim (Professor Emeritus), Sung-Wook Hong, Sun-Yul Yoo, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering △ Ki-Chan Kim, Jung-Min Kwon, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Byung-Ho Choi △ and △ Researcher Sudipta Chaterjee, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
○ Additionally, the 'Single Year' category, reflecting the research impact for 2025, includes a total of seven recipients: △ Jin-Gyun Cho, Department of Building Equipment Systems Engineering △ Kyung-Tae Park and Jeong-Han Kim, Department of New Materials Engineering △ Seon-Yul Yoo, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering △ Ki-Chan Kim, Department of Electrical Engineering △ Sung-Jin Yoo, Department of Mobile Convergence Engineering △ Sudipta Chaterjee, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
○ Among them, five individuals—△ Professor Jin-Gyun Cho of the Department of Building Equipment Systems Engineering △ Professor Kyung-Tae Park of the Department of New Materials Engineering △ Researcher Seon-Yul Yoo of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering △ Professor Ki-Chan Kim of the Department of Electrical Engineering △ Researcher Sudipta Chaterjee of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering—were listed in both the 'Lifetime Achievement' and 'Single Year' categories.
