□ The next-generation semiconductor optical inspection technology developed by Professor Jinseong Noh of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hanbat National University (President Oh Yong-jun) has been transferred to Mutech Korea Co., Ltd., a leading domestic semiconductor inspection equipment company, laying the foundation for the commercialization of research outcomes through industry-academia collaboration.

○ The Korea Hanbat National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation announced that after signing a technology transfer agreement with Mutech Korea Co., Ltd. last September for the 'semiconductor inspection device using single-shot ellipsometry' (Registered Patent No. 10-2515593), the technology transfer was recently completed through the assignment of the registered patent, with a total amount of 150 million KRW.

□ The newly transferred technology is a precision optical inspection method based on ellipsometry, which analyzes the thin film thickness and optical properties in semiconductor manufacturing processes, applying a single-shot approach.

○ This technology contributes to reduced measurement time and simplified system configuration compared to existing ellipsometry measurement methods, and is expected to be applied to high-speed, high-precision optical measurement equipment required in semiconductor manufacturing processes.

○ This technology transfer is particularly significant as it links the university’s developed semiconductor precision optical measurement technology with the product development and commercialization of a domestic equipment company.

○ Mutech Korea Co., Ltd., which acquired the technology, is a company developing semiconductor inspection and optical equipment technologies, and this technology transfer is expected to strengthen its foundation for commercializing next-generation semiconductor optical inspection equipment.

□ Professor Jinseong Noh of the Department of Mechanical Engineering said, "This technology transfer is a meaningful achievement that translates university research outcomes into the development of semiconductor inspection equipment for the industrial field," adding, "We will continue to strengthen industry-academia collaboration with domestic companies to contribute to the localization of semiconductor inspection and measurement technologies and enhance industrial competitiveness."

□ Meanwhile, Professor Noh’s research team is studying precision measurement, non-destructive testing, and AI-based defect analysis technologies in semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging, focusing on developing inspection and measurement technologies applicable to industrial sites.
