논문 초록 (Abstract)

Pyrolysis-basedplasticchemicalrecyclinghasgained significant industrial attentiondue to itsadvantageof eliminating complex plastic sorting processes. However, plastic pyrolysis oil containsvariouscomponentsthatrequirestringentremovalbefore subsequentprocesses.Inparticular,Clcompoundsoriginatingfrom the decomposition of poly(vinyl chloride) can cause serious corrosion of reactors and catalyst deactivation in downstream processes. While extensive researchhas been conductedon the removal of other heteroatoms (S, N, and O) from organic compounds viahydrotreating, studiesonthe removal ofCl have beenscarce. Inthisstudy, hydrodechlorinationoverPtcatalystson various supports is comprehensively investigated using 1,2dichloroethaneas amodel reactant. Our resultsdemonstrate thatPtonγ-Al2O3 canexhibit exceptionallyhighcatalyticactivity compared to thoseonother supports due toadistinct bifunctionalmechanism. Rigorous studies reveal that theLewis acidic pentacoordinatedAl sitesofγ-Al2O3activateC−Clbonds,whereasPtactivatesH2andprovidesspilloverHtoremoveClasHCl. ThebifunctionalmechanismenablestheminimizeduseofpreciousPt(<0.1wt%)toachievehighactivity.Pt/γ-Al2O3alsoallows forefficientCl removal (96.8%)withhighstabilityintreatingwasteplasticpyrolysisoil containing7500ppmofCl.
