(Abstract)
This study aims to analyze the changes from an Imperial original play to a Colonial adaptational document and the meaning about Japanese Rakugo text Sibahama and two adaptation texts of it, An, Guk-seon's A rickshaw man and Yun, Baek-nam's Gold in a dream. These three texts own the same story factor like a pool laborer and his wife, warning of drinking and laziness, happening of a chance good luck, the hero's reform and success etc.. But in the courses of adaptation from an Imperial play text to a Colonial document text, Gold in a dream and A rickshaw man has changed comic mood that the original text has to tragic or solemn mood in some degree. They attach importance to giving moral and enlightening instructions with emphasizing not a chance good luck but legal course of having fortunes. In the courses of having fortunes, Sibahama emphasizes both the value of sincerity and a trader's ability. Otherwise, Gold in a dream composed the tragic factor at the first half and the comic factor at the second half, it does not show definite courses of change and so presents the end lacks reality, that the hero had succeeded suddenly. Apart from other two texts that emphasize the peace of a home at the end, A rickshaw man emphasizes the hero's sincere and non drinking pose at the end. This work shows a colonial man who sticked to not become a bourgeois but stay a laborer and so it awakes the problem of colonialism in the courses of adaptation from an Imperial common play to a Colonial enlightening document.
