(Abstract)

The Beach settled as a refine taste-space enjoying Bourgeois romance and the young's energy, and was raised a charming stage in novels at the age of colony like Yi, Tae-Jun's , Kim, Mal-Bong's , Yi, Gwang-su's and etc.. In novels at the age of colony, the beach was regarded as a dirty space because in this, women exhibited their body. But in and etc., the beach was linked the discourses of sanitation and health, and was described a space makes purification and cure for the pure and aesthetic nature expanded.
