논문 초록 (Abstract)

In this study, silicide coatings were applied to Nb30Mo30Ti20Co20 high-entropy alloys (HEAs), and torch flame tests were conducted to evaluate their performance. The growth of the silicide layer, oxidation behavior, and thermal stress distribution were analyzed at 1823 K with varying coating thicknesses. Upon silicide coating, the Nb30Mo30Ti20Co20 alloys exhibited a phase sequence of CoSi2/XSi2/substrate. The growth kinetics of the silicide coating layers followed a parabolic behavior, described by the equation of L= 23.543 + (26.542 t)1/2 (where L is thickness and t is time) at 1373 K. During torch flame tests at 1823 K, specimens with a silicide coating thickness of 120 μm retained their original shape. However, when the coating exceeded 120 μm, thermal stress became concentrated at the vertices, leading to crack formation. The optimal silicide coating thickness was determined based on microstructural evolution during high-temperature flame exposure.
